Freedom & Subscription Terms
Everything we deploy is released under strong Copyleft licenses (GPL-3.0, AGPL-3.0, etc.); once the system is installed, you’re free to cancel your subscription, keep the code, and run it forever. We won’t cripple the system, revoke keys, or hide features behind proprietary walls, because that would make us hypocrites; restricting your rights is antithetical to our business ethics.
The monthly subscription fee isn’t a arbitrary, it’s how we:
- Facilitate ongoing development of the operating system
- Triage and fix bugs before they become outages
- Ship security patches automatically within 24 hours of release
- Answer the phone outside of business hours
- Feed our kids
If those things matter to you, do what’s right – keep us on the books so we can keep building systems that are designed to do right by you. If these things don’t matter to you, feel free to walk away; the software, and our respect for your freedom go with you.
Out-of-Subscription Support
If you choose to run without an active subscription, you can still get ad-hoc services; our non-subscriber rate is listed below. Emergency patch deployments are $600 each. This premium covers the extra cost of rapid scheduling, bespoke troubleshooting and guaranteed availability.

Trial terms
- SSD-Based Trial: We provide a bootable SSD with DeclarativeOS for testing
- Trial Duration: 7 days
- Trial Support: Ongoing support for basic inquiries
- Return Policy: SSDs will be retrieved from premises after end of trial; or pay cost of the SSD to keep them
Billing Notes
- Virtual machines count as separate devices
- Billing is monthly unless otherwise agreed
- Payment due within 14 days of invoice
